OUR PURPOSE
The principal charitable purpose of the Forest Lifeforce Restoration Trust is to oversee ecological enhancement, restoration and protection work across 23,000ha of privately owned land, within the Hawke's Bay hinterland.
Our secondary purposes are:
ENVIRONMENTAL
To assist where possible with the reintroduction and protection of native flora and fauna on private and Maori land adjacent to the Trust’s properties on central Hawke’s Bay, on the West Coast of the South Island and on Stewart Island.
SOCIAL
To help develop Best Practice processes in the areas of conservation in which we are active and to share this information with the wider conservation sector in New Zealand.
CULTURAL
To help mana whenua Ngāti Pāhauwera and Ngāti Whare re-connect and rekindle their historic links with whenua now under the Trust’s stewardship.
